CNTA Chairman Li Jinzao Meets with His Tunisian Counterpart
On January 30, 2017, Li Jinzao, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), met with a delegation headed by Salma Elloumi Rekik, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts of Tunisia in Beijing. They exchanged insightful views on further strengthening tourism cooperation between China and Tunisia. Dujiang, Vice Chairman of CNTA also attended the meeting.
Li Jinzao welcomed the visit of Salma Elloumi Rekik and her party. He said that the friendship between China and Tunisia has a long history and both countries have maintained cooperative ties in the fields of economy, commerce and trade and tourism. In particular, tourism plays an increasingly important role in promoting the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. In February 2017, the Tunisian government began to implement the visa-free entry policy for Chinese tourists, which has brought great convenience to Chinese tourists to Tunisia. China highly appreciates this and hopes that the Tunisian side will continue to take measures to provide Chinese tourists with a more secure and convenient tourism environment, and to push China-Tunisia tourism to a new level.
Salma Elloumi Rekik briefed on the development of tourism in Tunisia. She said Tunisia attaches great importance to the Chinese market and hopes to work closely with China to enhance tourism facilitation through the operation of direct flights and the strengthening of tourism personnel training, so as to provide more tourism products catering to the needs of Chinese tourists and thus attract more Chinese tourists to Tunisia.
Also present at the meeting was Dhia Khaled, Tunisian Ambassador to China, and relevant leaders from the Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison of CNTA.(CTNEWS)
