Li Jinzao in Talks with German Tour Operators in Munich
On June 3, local time, CNTA chairman Li Jinzao held a meeting with German travel agencies operating tours to China in Munich, Germany, to listen to their opinions about how to lure more German tourists to China. Attending German business insiders included corporate executives from Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich, such as heads of Travel to China, Ikarus and Asia Travel.
Li acknowledged the contribution of German travel agencies to China’s inbound tourism market which had shown a strong momentum in recent years thanks to the launch of holistic tourism, Toilet Revolution and the Tourism Plus project. He added that in the next step, CNTA would continue to strengthen coordination and communication with departments concerned, simplify the visa policy, vigorously promote holistic tourism, improve tourist services and bring the inbound tourism market to a higher level.
German tour operators present agreed that the Toilet Revolution and holistic tourism launched in recent years had improved the travel environment in China and added to the appeal and popularity of China as a tourist destination. They would seize the opportunity created by the China-EU Tourism Year of 2018, stepped up marketing efforts, and organized more tours to China. They also expressed concerns about visa expenses, complicated visa procedures, and charges of Chinese tourist attractions and offered suggestions on how to address these bottlenecks.
